A Note from Martha
My professional storytelling career began over 10 years ago. A primary focus of my life has been people and their stories. As an only child recuperating from polio, I was an avid reader, particularly of biographies. My storytelling has been influenced by life-long interests in history, psychology, social justice and art.

People say they enjoy hearing me because of my enthusiasm, humor, engagement with the audience, and respect for cultural traditions. One of my strengths is adaptability. Storytelling programs are tailored to the objectives of the sponsoring venue and the make-up of the audience. I have a large selection of delightful tales, legends, and lore from around the world. Original stories about historical figures based on my extensive research bring the person and their era to life.

I believe stories have the power to touch, heal and refresh the human spirit, while stimulating imagination and curiosity.
